The Phala team is excited to announce that the launch of the Closed Beta application process for Phat Contract today! Our engineers have been working hard to develop the foundational features for Phat Contract, and the time has come for Web3 developers to dive in and explore how Phala’s trustless off-chain computation platform can work for them.

The closed beta will be a private testing event with limited spots. We welcome all Rust & !ink developers to apply to join. Participants will receive a POAP NFT signifying their contribution to the test of Phat Contract, and the most productive developers will win prizes in $PHA. Don't worry if you miss out this time! This is just the first of many Phat Contract developer events that Phala will host.

What is Phat Contract?

Phat Contract is Phala Network’s software development kit that enables developers to permissionlessly utilize Phala’s decentralized off-chain cloud computating. Phat Contract uses the Rust language and can interface with smart contracts on any chain to execute a wide variety of compute tasks.

For the first time, you can easily implement important Web3 services on a decentralized infrastructure, such as:

• Building a decentralized Oracle;

• Allowing customers to sign into your DApps with Web2 accounts through OAuth;

• Controlling your smart contracts even if they are on different chains;

• Reading and storing data to any storage services while remaining private.

What to expect from the Closed Beta:

The Closed Beta campaign will be divided into two phases. In phase one, we will invite Phala’s partners to test Phat Contract with the goal of building out high-value use cases within the Phat Contract SDK.

In phase two, we will open up testing to all developers interested in building with the latest version of Phat Contract and eager to provide feedback.

The application process for both phases starts today, November 28th, and we encourage everybody to apply!

On December 12th, phase one will begin, and the test environment will be made available to our partners. Several days later, phase two will begin, and testing will be opened up to all successful applicants.
